Emergency Dispatcher
The Dispatcher functions primarily as a call-taker tele communicator and is responsible for receiving, recording and effectively managing requests for ambulance assistance/transport from various sources. Dispatches emergency personnel to situations requiring critical response. Reads posted orders to ascertain personnel requirements and notifies personnel of work assignments and changes in instructions by telephone or radio. Posts assignment information on dispatch board. May issue regular and special equipment to emergency personnel. May contact emergency personnel to verify assignment locations.
Qualifications
Must have minimal telecommunications experience or, have at least one year's experience as an EMS or public safety dispatcher. Ability to communicate clearly on the radio and telephone. Ability to record, transmit, and report information accurately.
Certifications /Education
High School graduate or equivalent.
