Electronics Technician Maintenance II
Maintains repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, television, telecommunication, sonar, and navigational aids); personal and main frame computers and terminals, industrial, medical, measuring, and controlling equipment; and industrial robotic devices. Applies basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices. This technician works under immediate supervision and achieves technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician.
Qualifications
Minimum three years experience in the maintenance and repair of electronic systems. Must be able to maintain and operate, high and low power radar, and microwave components. Must be proficient in the use of a wide range of electronic test equipment; and able to interpret engineering drawing and sketches.
Certifications /Education
Associate's Degree in Industrial Electronics completion of an accredited Technical Apprentice Program in Electronics or equivalent military training
