Assistant Fire Chief (Fire Prevention)

Plans, organizes, and directs all fire protection activities throughout base camps, facilities and tents. These services include conducting fire inspections, providing fire fighting support devices such as fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors and lighted exit signs. Develops, implements and manages the fire protection maintenance, inspection and testing program to ensure compliance with AR 420-1, Army Facilities Management, Chapter 25, Fire and Emergency and USG theater policies, and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Guidelines.


Three years of experience as a principle Supervisor in an operation the size and scope similar to that of the LOGCAP. Two years experience with an organized fire department and minimum of one year experience with aircraft crash and rescue duties. 

Certifications /Education

Associates Degree and two years experience or High School graduate (or equivalent), BS/BA in Fire Protection Engineering preferred.Certifications:  Fire Inspector I & II, Fire Instructor I and HAZMAT Awareness.
